Bye Bye Reddit (more like Plebbit)
Jan. 20th, 2020 10:52 amI guess I could say this is part of a series on my gradual disconnection from big-tech social media. After getting rid of my FB account well over a year ago (and still going strong!!), my presence on big social media sites has become practically nil. So many other tech-astute and freedom-loving people have happily deleted their faceberg/zuckbook accounts as well. In fact, from what I hear, the only people still actively using FB on a daily basis are boomers, soccer moms and SJWs from the elder end of the millennial generation.
But being the internet addict I am, I simply substituted my old excessive FB activity with the use of other platforms, namely Reddit (Plebbit) and Discord. And now, after gradually reducing my Reddit activity, I'm barely commenting there anymore, much less regularly scrolling through my subscription feed there. But I did drop a comment the other day, in a subreddit that a friend of my moderates, i.e. a sub that hasn't yet been completely taken over by intersectional "social justice" cultists, i.e. cultural marxists. Most of reddit these days is swarming with that brand of lunacy; it's gotten so scary to the point of normal, common sense comments being massively downvoted and screeched at my the usual horde of entitled imbeciles who seriously believe the world is whatever they can pretend it to be on any given day.
Anyway, I dropped in a comment where I took issue with another ocmmenter using the SJWnewspeak term "the male gaze" unironically. I very gentled pointed out that any normal heterosexual male is going to be looking at young, hot women with nice tits and/or ass; this is simply have hundreds of thousands of years of biological evolution has programed male hominids to be attracted to young, fertile female hominids. And on came an onslaught of stupid, obtuse, screechy comments taking issue with my acknowledgement that female attractiveness is very strongly correlated with fertility signals. The reality-deniers were out in force with the usual, "but reeeeeeee sexuality is a social construct, reeeeeeeeeee, we're conditioned to believe what is attractive, reeeeee." Yeah, by the time I had read these idiotic comments, my original comment had a solid 20 downvotes. I was almost tempted to respond to some of the idiocy but then the better side of my rational mind shined through and told me that it would be a total waste of time trying to engage with that sort of crazy. Those who deny that there is any biological component to human (or animal, really) sexuality simply cannnot be reasoned with. This is flat-earth level of reality-denial. It's just sad contemplating how this sort of social constructionist, blank-slatist brainwashing has become so pervasive among the younger generations.
Anyway, to make a long story short, I'm done with Plebbit. It's so infested with these drooling crazies that it's now best to stay away from it entirely. There's a few good subs left but those are bound to be censored (i.e. quarantined) sooner or later.
