Interesting. From what I've read, it's best to first look for mundane explanations whenever one experiences something strange or otherworldly. And when those possibilities are ruled out, the next step is to explore paranormal explanations.
When moving into the paranormal realm of inquiry, the general idea is that there is a whole world of different phenomena out there that can not in fact be weighed, measured, and dissected. Unfortunately, most modern Westerners today believe that for something to be real it must meet that criteria.
