Yeah, the more and more I mull this over, I more and more I firmly agree that the basic premise (that impersonal principles can and should be mingled with personalized objects of worship) to be a philosophical hot mess. The "God of the philosophers," i.e. the Source of All that is, is simply too far removed from human experience and understanding to be reified. It seems that any such effort to confuse or conflate the two has had strong political motivations behind it.
