Not to mention the Vajrayana and their unique mix of Bon and Mahayana Buddhism! When reviewing the greater religious traditions, and coming from a nascent perrenialist perspective, I was deeply surprised by the sheer amount of changes each religion went through from its inception. It's like a ship of theseus paradox, except instead of a wood sailboat you now have a submarine.

Perhaps! The only other thing I heard of Ashoka was his call to pacifism after his conquest of india. Ashoka's call seems more proselytizing whereas Constantine's was about internal stability.
